I Had That Day

I had that day. The day where I am down on myself and getting out of my bed is out of the cards.

Usually, I would force myself to push past this drag of a day. Instead, I decided to let myself have it for a few hours. To be sad, happy, upset, and all emotions in between.

As the day came to a close and the sun started to set at its now early hours, I decided it was in my best interest to get out of this funk. I got up, put my slippers on, and brought myself downstairs to my stack of art supplies.

I whipped out my wooden butterfly cutout, paintbrushes, and paint and went at it. To set the scene, I was blasting some J. Cole, Chance The Rapper & Drake in the background with a pumpkin candle lit in front of me.

As I didn't think anything could get me out of the rut, I must say that this act of doing shifted my mood. I went from lazy me to feeling alive and well.

The reason I am sharing this with you all is that I know I am not the only one who has these days or times (especially in quarantine). Perhaps, I am here to tell you that it is okay to feel this way.

If you are ever searching for suggestions on how to get yourself to reality, feel free to ask below or if you have tips for me, please send them my way!
