An Unusual Thanksgiving Day
Going into Thanksgiving, I knew that things would be a bit different. The usual feast of a meal would feel a bit more empty, the morale would be low and the company would be missing. That said, I went into the day with the best possible attitude. I did exactly what I would do on a Thanksgiving day without any pandemic restrictions.
I set my alarm for 8:45 a.m. just in time for the Thanksgiving Day Parade and I went from there. I spent time with my family, prepared the food with my mom, and had a drink in hand. While I tried my hardest to set the tone for the day there were a few setbacks. Let's just say my family took today as a regular day by that I mean, they went to wear sweatpants and pajamas to dinner.
At first, I was bothered being that it usually plays out very differently. When I accepted it, that is when things started to go the usual way. I threw my jeans on, did my hair, and put some mascara on my lashes, which made me feel like 100 bucks.
As 5:30 p.m. came around, my grandparents arrived and it was time to start the night! We sat around the dining table, ate, drank, conversed, and laughed.
While it was a day and night that was missing many factors, I must say it was one that ended up turning my frown upside down and that I am grateful.
