Disconnecting Is By No Means Easy
DISCLAIMER: This is hypocritical to my past article discussing the importance of disconnecting. Unfortunately, I don’t have superpowers.
About 5 minutes ago, I sat down in my bed and found myself having trouble disconnecting from the work world. I’m already sitting here trying to plan for tomorrow…Is there one more email I can write to send out in the morning? Can I make another TikTok?
While I ask myself these questions, I look to the right of me and find the book that I haven't opened in days because every time I go to read…BOOM my brain starts to think about all things irrelevant.
To put an end to the madness, I am here to come up with a solution. As Teddy Roosevelt said, “Complaining about a problem without posing a solution is called whining” and I am not trying to do that.
Here are 3 ideas that have the potential to work but in all honesty, this is the part where I am asking for a friend! All ideas are welcomed.
Should I limit myself to work only from 9-5?
Do I set a timer on my phone that reminds me to disconnect?
At night time should I leave my phone in another room?
Turn off my data? (Extreme…)
